1. Who is eligible to receive a gown from the Fairytale Dreams Program?
Wedding Gowns - Any woman who is in financial need is eligible to receive a free wedding gown. You must be at least 18 years or older to apply. You must be engaged and have a wedding date set. You must be unable to otherwise afford your gown. We ask for four recent pay stubs to prove eligibility. You can block out your personal info, such as social security number and birthdate, that is not needed and will not be asked for. To be eligible, you must have an annual household income of under $28,000 for a household of 2. If you make more than this amount, but are still unable to afford a gown for any reason, please e-mail us, we are willing to work with everyone.
Prom Gowns - Any high school student in financial need is eligible to receive a prom gown and accessories
(if available). You must be a junior or senior and attending your high school's prom. You must fill out an
application and have it signed by your guidance counselor, a teacher, other school official or your social
worker stating your eligibility. Once approved, you will receive a confirmation letter by mail stating the date
and time of your Fairytale Boutique Ball appointment. A valid student id will be required for you to enter the
event. Please keep in mind, there is a limited supply of gowns over size 16. We will do our best to
accommodate everyone, but receiving a dress is not guaranteed depending on our inventory. Gowns are available to girls in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut. If you live somewhere else in the US and don't have a similar program in your area, e-mail us, we're happy to help anyone we can!
2. How can I help?
Donate A Gown Or Accessories - We are always in need of gently used prom, evening and wedding
gowns in all shapes, sizes and colors. We only ask that the dresses do not have any rips or stains (that can't
be taken out with dry cleaning) and that the dresses be a current style, made within the last 5 years.
Monetary Donations - Monetary donations are greatly needed to pay for operating costs such as storage,
dry cleaning, photocopies, postage, advertising and transportation as well as other costs associated with
each Fairytale Boutique Ball. Your cash donation will also be used to purchase items we are running low on
during the prom and wedding season, including plus size gowns, veils, cosmetics and accessories.
In Kind Donations - In kind donations from local and national businesses will keep us running for many
years to come. Whether your company can donate gowns, shoes, cosmetics, dry cleaning services, event
rentals for the Fairytale Boutique Balls, advertising space, photocopies, printing services or anything else
in between, it's greatly appreciated. Please see our corporate sponsors page for more information.
Hold Your Own Dress Drive - We need thousands of dresses for our deserving applicants each year. Hold
a dress drive of your own, no matter where you are. You can hold one at your school, in your neighborhood, or
at your church or social group. Whether you collect 5 dresses or 500, they will go a long way in making
someone's big day special. We will give you $1 per gown you collect in the form of an Elite Event Productions gift certificate that you can use for any of our products or services. Contact us for more information and promotional materials to hold your own dress drive.
Host A Drop Off Location - Contact us for a box and fliers that you can set up in your shop or office where people can drop off their donations. We will pick up the gowns every few weeks (more often during the busy season). It requires no real effort on your part and it's a great way to help!
Volunteer - The Fairytale Dreams Program is run solely by volunteers, as part of the Elite Event Productions family. We need volunteers through out the year to solicit and obtain donations. But we especially need volunteers in January, February and March when the prom season is gearing up.
The Fairytale Boutique Balls are when we need people the most. To help set up, assist girls in finding their
gowns and accessories, getting them registered and completing their experience at the ball, as well as
packing up at athe end of the day. Seamstresses, Disc Jockeys and Photographers are also always needed
and welcomed for these events.
